Papers primarily concern Bowker's activities as a student and alumnus of City College of New York. Included are exams, essays, orations, lecture notes, sketchbooks, correspondence, tickets, and other material, 1864-1868, concerning studies and student activities, including the Clionian Society, the COLLEGIAN, and the Eclectic Literary Club of City College; correspondence, 1864-1933, concerning City College, Alumni Association and its activities, military training at City College, 1925-1926, including letters from Morris Raphael Cohen, and other matters; clippings on the book trade, 1916-1933, 1966-1967; and articles and poetry by Bowker. Also includes speeches by Albert H. Bowker, Chancellor of City University of New York, 1968-1969.
